Oh no I'm 31 now.

What's going on in the World of Pin Clock?

-IRL Stuff-

So bad news is I lost my job recently and am working to find work. It's not easy, but I'm taking commissions and even made a fiverr so I would appreciate if those were supported for artwork, or if you're just a kind soul who wants to help me get by, consider donating to my ko-fi! But that's enough begging for now. Outside of that situation, everything's been about the same over the past 365 days.

-Where is Johou Battle?-

I'm doing probably the last step in the game: Updating the art to my current standards since I expected this to come out so long ago that the illustrations no longer reflect my current abilities. Once those touch ups are done, it's simply a matter of importing all the assets, a few bugfixes, and implementing translation work, and it'll finally be ready to go! Oh, and I have to make a site for the game and myself. Barring anything catastrophic I'm expecting an October/November release period for it...will my game be a Scorpio? We'll see!

-Brawl Minus's next limits to break-

Hey, I did ensure Brawl Minus 5.0 came out last year, so I accomplished something! Brawl Minus still has a bit of a ways to go to be up to date with the other Brawl mods on the market, so I'm currently setting the stage for that as I'm hard at work on the next update, making artwork and managing the new additions. Speaking of setting the stage, if you're interested in playing Brawl Minus, why not sign up for the Setting the Summer Stage tournament on June 3rd at 6PM EST/3PM PST? My artwork for the event is finished and will be revealed soon, but we're also inviting other artists to participate, see This tweet for more information!

-It's another Clock Day film, everybody!-

I wanted to do something to pave the road to the big Clock Day 2026 film I mentioned in last year's post and...this one is a bigger undertaking than I thought. While 2024 and 2025 will be easier, I hadn't thought this one's duration out as well as I could have. It's halfway there, which isn't good enough unfortunately, but don't worry I'll find a way to power through and get this done on time! I'll use this one as a precaution for the next two years which will thankfully be much easier to produce.

Time to reflect

-Puella Magi Strawberry Clockika-

My Clock Day 2022 film was an interesting adventure that I definitely had fun adapting to a Clock Crew format. While it is a little sad seeing not a lot of people have seen the peak of anime known as Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the anime nature of its opening served well enough to have it accomplish its goal of a Clock Crew Magical Girl bit. I aimed for being cruder than usual with its jokes and I feel I succeeded there, but they felt crude in a very Pin Clock way, for better or for worse. Funny thing is the one movie I do go cruder than usual is the one time I have students find my videos and they act like I'm some sort of massive pervert because the one SBC gives another a bj or the masturbation joke or who knows what. But then I remember that this is the generation that thinks that everything in a work is reflective of the author when in reality I just wanted to try something slightly different, but it is what it is. I'm glad the ending was changed last minute, previously it was super specific to Madoka while the newer one works more in general with nods to Madoka. Which is part of why I feel the film succeeded in what it wanted to do, you didn't have to know Madoka or the Clock Crew to enjoy it, but there were a lot of bonuses if you did. That said this one was my worst performing Clock Day movie in a while, not even breaking Top 10, but that's just Newgrounds for you.

-April 1st, 2023-

So this whole thing came up March 1st when someone proposed we make April Fools a gaslight into making people think it was Clock Day. I figured it was a fun idea and wanted to do something but wasn't sure what until I realized I had the perfect movie already exist for this to work: My Clock Day 2018 film all about the date. I could keep most of the animation the same and just change a few things around and presto a brand spankin' new movie that fits perfectly, using something that already exists to fuel the gaslight! And thank christ Monaca Towa's birthday was on April 1st because if no Danganronpa character had an April 1st birthday I have no idea what I would have done! It did slow down productivity on Clock Day 2023 (because of course I had to improve all the backgrounds, the one thing I thought could use the most work) but it was worth it, and showed me that this idea has limitless...well, 364 more days worth of potential if I really wanted to revisit it. There's something funny about this movie ranking just like the original did 5 years back, though. Like it really is the same movie.

So where do we go from here?

This year is the year with wrapping up Johou Battle as its main goal (as have the last several years but ignore that) and once we are there, the other projects should be much smoother sailing. I want to make another game, but I'd rather make that game on a smaller workload than the one I have now, meaning I've got a lot of current work to clean up, wish me luck!

Hello everyone what the fuck I am 30 why

Hope you're all well, I wanted to make this post to update you on how my life's going!

-IRL Stuff-

I need more job interviews and to lose more weight, but otherwise I'm in a better place than 2020. I *technically* got professional animation work experience working on a cartoon, but it didn't pay too well for the massive workload so I'm not gonna renew it, but it did pay for the Johou Battle stuff I'll get into later so at least something good came out of it. I'm also getting a new, much more powerful PC. How much that will increase my potential and capabilities we'll have to see, but I know it will come in handy for Johou among other things!

Johou Battle

Speaking of Johou Battle, I have a lot to report here! Thanks to the money, the advanced programming and music, aspects I couldn't cover myself, are all paid for! The soundtrack sounds great (waiting for it being closer to release to show any of it off though) and I'm on my last round with the advanced programmer before final initial tweaks and playtesting begins! 2022 seems quite likely this time!

Brawl Minus

My other game, Brawl Minus 5.0 (called 4.3 in my last post, but the version's so big we're going to the next number), is also looking pretty 2022 if I do say so myself! We got a huge boost in February and while that momentum hasn't always remained, it did spark a bit of life in development. I hope it's seen through to the end.

Clock Day 2022

As of writing there are 8 shots left in the first take. This isn't really a major one or even one I expect to be successful, but it's one I started in 2016 but never continued due to that fresh out of college optimism hoping I'd find work. Now I figure I may as well finish it.

Lower priority projects

--------------------------------------

Childhood stories

I'm done 10.5 out of 50 or so, and will continue and revise until the stories are all done. I still don't have a date for this, but I don't want to post them until they're all done either. It's still a low priority project and with 5 more years of Clock Stuff I don't even have an estimated date. What is my life.

Clockday 2026

While before I'd do work for this between other projects, I decided I wanted to wait until I was done the other Clock Day movies first. I'm gonna give myself 2 years for this one just to be safe. So what about 2025? Well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Finished stuff

--------------------------------------

Since my last post I finished the following, with some reflection.

-Agents of K Corp 2021

Mighty Girl when submitted to Newgrounds placed Daily 3rd, and I'm thinking about why Agents of K Corp didn't even rank. A lot of it is likely with the nature of the original film itself. Since I didn't have access to the voice cast for the remake and also didn't want to do too too much beyond visual refinement, there wasn't a lot I could change. The biggest change between versions would be Henry's reaction after slapping the coffee out of Mati's hand, where thankfully I had a second more regretful sounding take of the line. The reaction was much better and more natural than the initial one, a huge improvement. Additionally the revision allowed me to tribute it to my Mom-mom Helen, who had passed away the summer after the 2016 version of the film was screened. I'm proud to place my senior thesis in honor of her now and most importantly that she got to see it.

If I were to give Agents of K Corp yet another go I'd aim for a full on remake with more scenes rather than a visually polished version of the 2016 film, but I need to get a life and would likely need dedicated staff for such a thing. Which again I need a life for first. But I also want to make different animations of different things too rather than polish K Corp forever so...

-Clock Day 2021

Time came out decently but I'll admit I was disappointed by the film's performance on Newgrounds. While in the Clock Crew's community rankings it placed 4th or 5th (I forget exactly) behind to be fair fantastic films that had me laughing hard, on Newgrounds it didn't even place top 10. I'd consider that a weak performance on my part, and if I had to contribute it to a specific aspect, it'd be not enough experimentation making the artstyle of the film work. I had created A style test illustration but I should have done some tests with motion. That said, I still think some movement like the leaf worked out well. I try to give myself a challenge of sorts each clock day, that time being no animating on ones, and I think it worked out decently, just the execution of SBC's movement could have been better.

-Tails Gets Trolled

Can't talk about this yet since it's not done but the TGT Anime Episode 1 is coming along smoothly enough even if it still feels like it's never coming out. I got my own things to work on though so I'm done contributing to it for now and it's in the director's hands. I did animate the entire OP solo and while the final version will have some revisions from him I'm still impressed with all the work I did for it.

Still got a lot of my table just like before, thankfully a little less but still very big portions to create! I look forward and hope that each one delivers!

So a lot has been going on in my life and there's so much to talk about, so I will be discussing everything from most important to least important (but still important enough to talk about). This will also be a blog post on my Twitter account. There's a lotta things to cover, several things that I haven't even announced yet, so buckle up and enjoy the ride.

-REAL LIFE THINGS

Good news is I have been safe during the pandemic. I've utilized the money given to pay off all of my college loans! Of course, getting that much money means I've been out of work, and am still looking for work. And the work I find is likely not to pay me very highly. On top of that, my family is aiming to shove me into an apartment as soon as they can due to my age, regardless of if I can be financially independent or not. If you wish to support me financially I have my Ko-Fi link here: https://ko-fi.com/pinclock I used to use Patreon, but haven't found much luck or real updates to post on it. I was thinking of getting back into it when developing my real original game, marketing is hard. But for now, I would greatly appreciate any support towards my Ko-Fi.

-Johou Battle

Johou Battle (for those not in the know, a crossover SHMUP between Touhou Project and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) is also going well, I'm almost done the gameplay and am focusing on adding features and tweaks. That said there's a lot of features and tweaks I need to do. Main ones being a high score function, saving, and viewing, a replay function, and difficulty levels (which I said I wasn't originally going to do, but a student of mine of all people convinced me otherwise). Some of these I will need to hire external help, so I am once again pushing my Ko-Fi to get it out faster. I know my resolution said 2020 but I'm at the very least making great progress so first half of 2021 is pretty realistic unless I can't get the help I need or real life decides to kick my ass.

If you are interested in lending a hand, I am seeking

-Musicians (remixing primarily but original compositions is also a plus)

-Game Maker programmers to assist with code like a high score system and replay system.

Payment a promise but I would still aim to compensate anyone that is willing to lend a hand. If I can afford it, I will offer payment. Feel free to reach my account if you are interested!

Once this is done I will soon shift gears to my original game idea, which I cannot wait to be able to show off to you guys. Just want to make a small little taste so I can get a taste of game making.

-Agents of K Corporation (2021 Revision)

Oh look, the first new announcement. I just noticed that my senior thesis, Agents of K. Corporation was never uploaded to Newgrounds. This was originally because I was going to add more scenes in a Director's Cut fashion, but other projects and life got in the way of that. Since Agents of K Corporation is approaching its 5th anniversary, I wanted to revisit it and improve on the animation I had made back then. While I would love to add the other scenes if I had time, I am more interested for now in fixing the existing animation to create a better film and make it more worth posting on Newgrounds. I am aiming for this revised version of Agents of K Corp to be released in May 2021, 5 years after the original animation.

-Clock Day 2021

Clock Crew is turning 20, of course I gotta do something for this. It's going to be good, and I'm looking forward to making it. As for the scale of the project, it's going to be more of a 2018 or Rainy Day than a Strawberry Digital, but I know it's going to be loved and worthy of 20 years of celebrating the Clock Crew.

The rest below this line are of lower priority

-------------------------------------------------

Various illustrations

For my Newgrounds folk, you've likely noticed I've been uploading various artworks of mine there. I will continue to do so until every piece worth preserving is there. I of course plan on drawing other illustrations, when I find the time, but I will not be participating in Inktober this year in order to prioritize on the more important projects. Unless I find a job that gives me the time to do so while there, but I'm not gonna bet all my chips on it.

Smash video clips

I'm still posting these on my twitter lolol I have tons to go but they will be posted. Just noting they exist daily on my twitter is all.

Brawl Minus 4.3

-This is the section where I talk about Brawl Minus. Where is Brawl Minus? Well, I'm only one person and Brawl Minus takes a team. I have pushed more towards the start of the year, but most of the developers are either busy with other projects, inactive, or not a positive work environment to be around, so it's sad for me to find Brawl Minus in this priority, but here it is. I would still love for 4.3 to come out, it's just with other things on my plate taking a higher priority. If things ever do get more active in the back room this will take higher priority, but I feel like the only one there still wanting it, I'm just at a point in my life where I need to put other wants first.

-Clock Day 2026

....wait what? What happened to 2022-2025? Well, I'm not gonna worry about them until they're a year away, and they're going to be smaller projects. 2026 is the big boy, the huge Clock idea I've had since 2014, the grand finale of my major Clock Crew projects. If you thought Strawberry Digital was long you haven't seen anything yet. It's easily at least twice as long as that! That's why I'm giving it all the time in the world.

-Kirby Krew Storybooks

Only those who know me from way back even know what these are. Basically, I never finished the stories I started as a kid, and wish to finally give it the story and ending it deserves. I had previously done these as Flash files where I also read the stories and you can turn the pages, but due to the death of Flash Player, I have decided to start the stories over again and export them as .PNGs. I don't know where I will post them, but I do know I will not start posting them until I have revised all the stories I had done previously and am all caught up, which could take a long time.

-Tails Gets Trolled - The Animation

This one's really low on my list, isn't it? but I am still willing to help out this project with pages. Just not do all of the pages myself. It felt like the workflow was really really slow and only me and the TGT admin were carrying it, so I decided to focus on my other ambitions until more help arrives. I hope it succeeds but my other endeavors take higher priority.

That should be everything covered. As you can see I certainly have a lot on my table, and I'm gonna do my best to be the very best I can be! I look forward to showing everything off to everyone some day! I hope i can also share more updates that aren't walls of text with you some day!

Till then,

Pin Clock

That time of year has finally arrived, Clock Day!

Of course I have an animation fresh and ready to go, it's Rainy Day!

Also, I will be submitting my artworks to the art portal starting tomorrow. It's been long overdue. Not gonna share everything I've ever made, but some prime goodies I've made over the years until we get to the more recent stuff where I'll share all of that.

Hey, I'm Pin and I'm Bored, so I'm doing this note Early.

Movies for '09

The Follwing is a list of PLANNED movies for 2009. This means that there of course will be suprises I haven't come up with yet. In Fact, last year I planned 6, while I wound up with at least 14! So Anyways, here's what I have

Kirby Krew Storybook Packet
The first one will be released after the 4th one comes out on my other sites.

John and Joe 6
This one will be kinda short. Also, it depends if Marie's voice Actress (Wolfwings on Newgrounds) decides to renew and work with me for '09. This would effect if there are more episodes as well. Expect this one in February.

Swiper Snipes Back: Reloaded
A remake of the original. In fact, the original is only part of what I have in store! Expect this one March 9th.

Kirby 32
This is diffrent from the canceled one (See "Mike C." in "Project Joro" for why it was canceled.) What will be in it is a surprise. Expect this one Sometime late Spring.

~Clockday Movie~
I'm working around with several ideas on this one, I cannot decide. I'd explain them, but I like keeping my Clockday flash a secret. Expect it August 15th.

The Adventure of Pirate Clock
The movie hinted at after the credits in "John and Joe 5". Expect it August 26th

I'm not really sure what I will do from there.

The Following I'm not sure about their release.

Gourmet Race Collection
This one is coming slowly, but is already at least 10% done. Check Out the demo in the gift packet.

Ness' Last Hope Sequel
SOME PEOPLE really want a sequel to this one. However, I'm still waiting to see if Nintendo will do anything about EarthBound on the virtual console.

Oh yeah, one more thing.
Looks like my pal Lucent slipped out a little surprise here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAvsrv wWSUU Start at 5:24). I will be making a new original flash called "Cool The Stickman" That will be released around New Year's. Lucent will be voicing Cool while I will be voicing other roles like his sidekick Coolpliss, as well as characters being voiced by "whoever else Pin invites along". It actually isn't a stick flash, and will contain a mixture of art stlyes from "Project Joro", the "John and Joe" series, and "Tom Fulp Saves the Day".

Stat Whoring: Yes, this is important too.
Over the years, these are my stats.
